NASCAR phenom Carson Hocevar has a new contract with Spire Motorsports - and describing it as 'longterm' might be an understatement.
The 23-year-old whirlwind from Portage, Michigan has been a breath of fresh air on the Cup Series stage with his IDGAF attitude to racing and his fan-friendly approach on social media. He is also a prolific buyer of classic vehicles on Facebook Marketplace.
While Hocevar has ruffled some very famous feathers on track in the last couple of years, he clearly has the raw talent and speed to back up his cojones. And now Spire have rewarded him in a big way.
It appears the team will be built around Carson for a long time after the man in the No.77 Chevrolet inked a new deal which stretches ‘into the next decade’.
That means Hocevar is locked down for at least the next four years and potentially more, and the young man himself is delighted about the whole thing.

Hocevar on new Spire contract
“This shows we’re all committed and eager to race with each other for a long time,” he explained.
“I think of Jeff (Dickerson, team co-owner) as a father figure, but the same could be said for Luke (Lambert, crew chief), Tyler (Green, spotter), Bill (Anthony, team president) and all the No. 77 guys. Everyone in the building has really become a family to me.
“Spire is such a different team now compared to how it was my rookie season, and especially when I made my debut in 2023. It’s fun to know I’m going to be around the Cup garage for a long time, and really a dream come true.”
Adding to those comments later on social media, Hocevar admitted: “during contract negotiations i think i asked if it could read “if i had a pulse, i would be driving a spire race car”, but into the next decade sounds good too.
“i am here for a long long time in the sport i loved as a kid. thank you, to everyone that has stuck by me.”
Spire chief loves Hocevar ‘like a son’
It was not by accident that Hocevar lavished such praise on Dickerson - he’s been a key factor in the driver’s growth in recent seasons. And the Spire co-owner says the feeling is very much mutual.
“It’s a pretty big moment for our company to announce an extension with Carson that takes us out for multiple years,” he said.
“It’s not just about knowing he’ll be here with us for the long haul, but it gives our sponsors and competition group the foresight to make their own plans knowing he’s
in the seat of the No. 77 as far as we can see.
“It has been an absolutely rewarding experience getting to know Carson and watching him grow up and learn from the good and bad both at and away from the race track. I love him like a son and it means a great deal to me, personally, knowing he’ll be here for several years.”
Hocevar 2025 results and more
Aside from some high-profile on-track rumbles with rivals, Hocevar had a pretty satisfying 2025 season. It brought him two top-five finishes and nine in the top 10, along with 122 laps led.
The previous season, Hocevar had burst onto the Cup Series scene in style to claim Rookie Of The Year honors. He had made his Spire debut in 2023.
