Daniel Suarez has delivered fighting words – literally – in his ongoing media tirade against former team-mate Ross Chastain.
Suarez and his former Trackhouse Racing team-mate got into it after Sunday's race at Las Vegas, with a brief shoving match ensuing, before the Mexican driver called Chastain 'two-faced' to the media.
He then took to his YouTube channel later to go back at Chastain, claiming he 'lost a lot of respect' for the driver of the No. 1 car as a result of the confrontation, before putting his old colleague on blast again on SiriusXM NASCAR on Tuesday.
In possibly his most remarkable comments yet, Suarez explained that he chose not to 'kick his butt' because NASCAR would fine him, his sponsors would be unhappy and – in his words – a fight against Chastain 'is not going to last five seconds'.

Suarez 'proud' of handling Chastain scuffle
"I was actually very proud of myself," he said, "the way I handled the situation. Because probably the Daniel of three years ago would have kicked his butt. There were a few reasons [he didn't].
"Reason number one, to punch him and to put him on the ground, it was gonna cost me $50,000. Reason number two, the sponsors never like that. They like exposure, but they don't like bad media, bad PR. And reason number three, if I want to fight Ross – and he knows this – it's not going to last five seconds.
"So what am I going to gain with that? I wasn't going to gain anything. I wasn't trying to fight him, I was just trying to understand his thought process. Then when he was talking about all this nonsense, I realised that his mind was ...
"I told him, I said 'you're becoming the old Ross. You don't know what you're doing!' In all this conversation, he was telling me that he didn't hit me on the back straightaway. I said 'Ross, you hit me on the back straightaway!'
"He said 'I never hit you on the back straightaway!' and I said 'you are crazy then! Either you're a liar or you don't know your actions'."
