23XI Racing has confirmed that NASCAR Truck Series champion Corey Heim will attempt to qualify for the Daytona 500 next month in the No. 67 car.

That means that there are now eight Open entries confirmed for the Great American Race, competing for only four spots in the 41-car field – meaning that there are now four drivers and teams set for disappointment.

The announcement was part of a wider release revealing the expansion of an existing deal with Robinhood, also confirming that Bubba Wallace will run a Robinhood-branded car at the Clash this weekend.

Heim is fresh off an incredible, record-breaking year in the Truck Series which saw him shatter Greg Biffle's 26-year-old record of nine wins in a single season – racking up 12, including the championship race at Phoenix.

That record-breaking season included a run of eight wins in the final 11 races to close out the year with absolute dominance. However, the 23-year-old doesn't have a full-time seat for this year and is expected to bounce between the No. 67 in the Cup and Tricon's No. 1 in the Truck Series.

Heim excited for Daytona 500 debut

In a release on Tuesday, Heim said: “It means a lot to me to have the opportunity to represent Robinhood again this season, and it’s extra special to do so at the Daytona 500. Coming off a great season last year, I’m excited to continue my growth as a driver and look forward to another successful year.”

Team president Steve Lauletta added: “We’re proud to have Robinhood growing with our team and excited to see the Robin Neon paint scheme competing for a starting spot at the Daytona 500.

"Robinhood continues to be one of the most innovative brands in the financial services category, and we look forward to another year of engaging with their customers in fresh, cutting-edge ways that only Robinhood and 23XI can do.”

On his own part of the announcement, Wallace concluded: “I’m excited for more races this year with Robinhood and appreciative of their support for 23XI. We’re still a relatively young team that’s growing and learning, and it’s been fun to bring new partners into the sport and grow alongside them.”
