Tony Stewart, racing in NASCAR, at Daytona, everything just feels good again in 2026.

The 54-year-old three-time Cup Series champion is back at the iconic Florida track to make his Truck Series debut tonight (Friday February 13) and the excitement is real.
Stewart will be in the No.25 Ram for Kaulig Racing and he is expected to be one of the biggest storylines in the sport when the action gets under way at 7.30pm ET (FS1).

It would be fair to say EVERYBODY is interested in how Stewart performs after a decade away from NASCAR competition. And that includes the champions of today.

Current superstar and three-time Cup Series king Joey Logano will be in the commentary booth for tonight’s action, and he cannot wait.

Joey Logano on Stewart Truck Series debut

One thing Logano does believe is that Stewart will find a very different NASCAR experience to the one he left behind back in 2016.

“He’s gonna realize how much the world has changed since he was here last because what used to happen on the racetrack compared to what it is now has just changed a lot, just the level of aggression, the moves that are made are just different than what they used to be,” he told media.

"I’m interested to see what he thinks. I’m excited to watch him. I think it’s a huge story. I’m up in the booth for it, so I’m excited to watch it.”

Will Tony Stewart race the Daytona 500 again?

The fact Stewart is returning to NASCAR action of course has everybody asking the obvious follow-up. Will he return to Cup Series combat and the Daytona 500 one day?

Sadly it appears the answer is negative, with the legend stating emphatically: “We can lead every lap tomorrow night, and I will not be back here for the Daytona 500. I’m pretty good after all these years of saying never. You will not see me here for the Daytona 500.”

So to sum up, savour every moment of tonight. This is an opportunity few NASCAR fans expected - enjoy it while you can.
