Want this weekend's All-Star Race to be a pass-happy, run-anywhere chaos-fest? NASCAR's got you covered.

Track crews will be specially applying resin to the corners of Dover Motor Speedway this week to help create multiple lanes around the 1-mile oval, and dragging tires across the surface to lay down extra rubber.

Teams will have a deilberately-tested tire combo for the weekend, with the left-sides the Goodyear tires which debuted at Bristol last month, and right-sides that they used to race at Dover last summer.

Mike Tatoian, president and general manager of Dover Motor Speedway, said: “The NASCAR All-Star Race is all about putting on the best possible show for the fans, and there’s no better place to do that than Dover Motor Speedway.

"NASCAR has put a major focus on widening the racing groove and creating more opportunities for drivers to race side-by-side and make passes throughout the field. Combined with the added horsepower teams will have this weekend, fans should see even faster speeds and a very competitive race at The Monster Mile.”

2026 NASCAR All-Star Race format

The All-Star Race festivities will kick off with qualifying on Saturday afternoon, each driver completing a flying lap before heading to pit road for a four-tire stop – and out back around to the checkered flag, the total times for those whole outings setting the grid.

The race itself will feature two 75-lap stages, before ten cars are eliminated and a final 200-lap stage decides the winner of the All-Star Race and its million-dollar prize.
