A NASCAR star has taken to social media to share the first glimpse of a small side-project he's been working on over the last year or so.
Truck Series sophomore Frankie Muniz posted a trailer for the mini-series 'Malcolm in the Middle: Life is Still Unfair', something he's been working on in the background while competing full time in NASCAR.
Of course, we're being a bit cheeky here. The original run of Malcolm in the Middle made Muniz a massive star as a teenager in the 2000s, and the announcement of its reboot last year – with much of the original cast returning, including Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek as his parents – was met with excitement by fans.
Muniz made it clear at the time that his filming schedule would have to fit around his NASCAR schedule, with 25 races on his calendar for 2025.
Muniz set for hectic 2026
He did end up missing four of those races, although not because of a scheduling conflict. Instead, he was forced out of the races with a distal radius fracture of his wrist, after falling at home while trying to change the batteries in his Ring doorbell.
Muniz confirmed last month that he'll return for another crack at a full-time NASCAR season in 2026, writing on social media: "I thought I was done. I really did. Hung up the helmet, said 'that’s a wrap' on racing… then realized I’ve still got way too much unfinished business on track. So here’s the news I’ve been dying to share...I’m coming back FULL TIME in 2026.
"Full season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with my Team Reaume family. Couldn’t be more pumped to be home."
Malcolm in the Middle: Life is Still Unfair will release on April 10th, on Hulu and Disney Plus.
