Ryan Preece has warned his fellow NASCAR Cup Series drivers to be ready for a rough ride from him once again at this year's Clash.
The unbanked quarter-mile oval gets real cosy, real fast when there are a couple of dozen Next Gen Cup Series cars out there racing, which in part led to Preece wrecking John Hunter Nemechek 12 months ago.
Nemechek had bumped Preece up the track during one of last year's heat races in order to find space to get past, only for the No. 60 RFK Racing driver to retaliate with some venom and send the No. 42 wrecking into the outside wall.
Preece has warned that any such antics will be dealt with in the same way in 2026 (not exactly incentivizing other drivers not to just punt him hard first time and avoid consequences), warning of a Jekyll and Hyde situation.
Preece: You hit me, I'll hit back harder
Speaking to PRN, Preece sent his message: "I'm the type of guy that if you push me, I'm gonna hit you back. I'm gonna make sure that if you do it to me, you're not going to have an opportunity to get me back after I do it back to you.
"But at the same time, if you race me with respect I'm gonna race you with respect. Granted, that's what people remember of what happened last year, I think there's also a side to it of 'race with respect, you'll get it back', but we are at the Madhouse, so you never know.
"It's kinda like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, right? Push me the wrong way, you'll find out which one you're gonna get back." [Note: this is not how the story of Jekyll and Hyde goes]
