NASCAR Cup Series star Christopher Bell will expand his racing schedule this weekend at Darlington.

The Joe Gibbs Racing star won't just run in Sunday's Cup Series race, having been confirmed for triple duty at The Lady In Black this weekend.

In addition to Sunday's Goodyear 400, Bell will step into the Halmar Friesen Racing No. 62 truck on Friday for the Buckle Up South Carolina 200 before replacing Brent Crews – not currently old enough to race at Darlington – in the JGR No. 19 car for the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help a Hero 200.

Bell has one career win at Darlington in a national NASCAR series, in the Xfinity Series in 2024, and has a best Cup Series finish of third at the famous track.

Bell: I needed to do better in Vegas

Bell appeared frustrated last Sunday after failing to win from pole position at Las Vegas, blaming himself for failing to make the most of a strong No. 20 car as his team-mate Denny Hamlin took the race win.

The No. 20 finished fourth which, combined with his Stage 1 win and third place in Stage 2, netted Bell more than 50 points toward his pursuit of a first ever Cup Series championship in November.

Speaking after the race, he said: "I’m not really sure what more we needed other than me doing a better job behind the wheel. I needed to win the restarts and control the race, and I just didn’t execute well enough.”

Bell's last Xfinity/O'Reilly Series race at Darlington came last year, again in the No. 19 car. He finished 25th. He has never raced at the track in the Truck Series.
