Not content with causing organizational chaos for the Clash at Bowman Gray, the snowstorms battering the east coast have caused another NASCAR event to be postponed.
Last week was supposed to see O'Reilly Series and Truck Series teams take two days down at Rockingham Speedway on January 27-28, later rescheduled to February 3-4.
That has now been pushed back again and cut to a single day's running on Friday, February 6.
The event is still free for fans to attend, with the Turn 4 grandstand available to watch the day's testing from – which will run from 9am to 5pm.
NASCAR struggling with winter storms
“Due to the ongoing effects of this weekend’s historic winter storm and its continued impact on surrounding areas,” Track Enterprises said in a statement, “the previously scheduled two-day test has been condensed to a single-day format.”
A whole host of teams are expected to use the test to dial into the legendary track, with only one year's data to work from after NASCAR's two-decade absence was ended in 2025.
As already alluded to, the Rockingham test isn't the only weather-related problem for NASCAR this week.
The Cup Series' exhibition race at Bowman Gray was originally scheduled for Sunday, February 1 before snow and ice led to a rearranged date of Monday – which was pushed back once again on the weekend to Wednesday evening.
