Popular racing star Cleetus McFarland is aiming to run in the Daytona 500 one day, continuing the mission he and NASCAR great Greg Biffle started together.
McFarland - whose real name is Lawrence Garrett Mitchell - is a YouTube star with over 4.6 million subscribers, but also a keen racer and was friends with the NASCAR legend.
The 30-year-old is continuing to pursue his passion in 2026 after last season saw him make four appearances in the ARCA Menards Series at Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte and Bristol. However, he credits all of his success to Biffle.
The two were close, and Biffle and his family were even on their way to visit him when they were involved in the tragic plane crash that took their lives in December.

McFarland: I wouldn't be here without Biffle
McFarland is now preparing to return to ARCA racing in 2026, set to run in another five events this season with Rette Jones Racing. Sadly, he will be without his mentor this time around.
“Greg had a lot of impact on me and my personality, all the way to the way I treat my family, and a lot of my life,” McFarland told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, via Tobychristie.com.
“I absolutely would not be here today without Greg Biffle.
“When the whole NASCAR idea came up, I don’t think it would’ve ever happened without his guidance, his mentorship, his connections that got me in with the right people, got me a car, taught me the necessary tools to actually do it without looking like a complete idiot.
“I’ve obviously made mistakes, but I would’ve made so many more.”
Cleetus McFarland's Daytona 500 mission
Continuing further, McFarland revealed his lofty goal of one day making the Daytona 500 - a mission he says he and Biffle started together and that he will finish in honor of his friend.
“I got a few things on my bucket list to get behind the wheel of," he later added. "Just figuring it out as I go, there’s still plenty out there."
McFarland later continued: "I got a lot on my list, but ARCA has certainly been a fun part of it, and my goal is to make it to the Daytona 500. So, I got a lot of work left here still.
"The back of my car says, 'Be Like Biff' today, and I’m carrying our mission of getting to the Daytona 500. That’s what we started with, all this stuff, so I gotta finish it.”
