Simmey began his journalism career in soccer, covering Watford FC in the Premier League for Vavel International before moving on to Football League World, where he reported on the English Football League, from the Championship through to League Two.

A lifelong racing fan, Simmey later transitioned into motorsport, joining GPFans Global as an F1 journalist delivering news, features, and analysis as part of a team that saw the site hit record-breaking traffic. He later became Chief Editor of GPFans US, continuing to cover F1 whilst also expanding the site’s coverage on NASCAR and IndyCar.
