Hendrick Motorsports star Alex Bowman has revealed that several changes have been made within the team ahead of the new NASCAR campaign.

The Cup Series cars will hit the track for the first race of 2026 next weekend at The Clash exhibition, and when they do, there will be plenty of new faces on the No. 48 crew.

Besides himself, crew chief Blake Harris, and spotter Kevin Hamlin, Bowman says that the team has made wholesale changes from top to bottom to address their 2025 struggles.

Despite a couple of near misses at Homestead and Richmond, Bowman failed to win a race last year, only scraping into the playoffs on points and eventually suffering an early elimination in the first round (Round of 16).

Bowman: 2025 was a big struggle

Speaking with Catchfence ahead of the new campaign, Bowman reflected on last season's struggles, but is excited for the new season to get underway.

“There’s no secret last year was a big struggle for us," the Hendrick Motorsports star admitted.

"And we’ve made an immense amount of changes to try to be better for 2026.

“Everything from the top down, really, with the exception of me, Blake, and Kevin, has been a change. So, all new faces on the team, just trying to be better.

"So it’ll be interesting to get everybody working together and trying to gel, but I’m excited to get to the race track and get to work and get going on it.”

Among some of the changes made within the team include the additions of new lead engineer, Jonas Bell, and Nick Kerlin as car chief.

Bell joins Hendrick Motorsports having previously been at Kaulig Racing, whilst Kerlin previously worked on Chase Elliott's No. 9 team at HMS.
