Kyle Busch will compete in eight NASCAR Truck Series races in 2026 after agreeing a new deal with Spire Motorsports following a key rule change.

Busch will drive the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado as he looks to add to his record haul of 67 Truck Series race wins (he also holds a series-best average finish of 6.7).

The 40-year-old superstar, who will of course race fulltime in Cup Series action once again with Richard Childress Racing in 2026, has raced 10 Truck Series races for Spire in the past two seasons. Those races netted him five top-five finishes and six finishes in the top 10.

Now the man from Las Vegas, Nevada will get the chance to up his schedule to eight races after NASCAR amended what is known as the ‘Kyle Busch rule’ late last year.

That rule restricts the number of races in a year that Cup Series stars (with three years experience in the premier series) can run in lower series. It had previously been five.

Busch delighted with NASCAR rule change

Busch said: “I’m excited that after NASCAR amended the ‘Kyle Busch rule’ that I was able to work it out with Jeff (Dickerson, owner), Brian (Pattie, crew chief) and everyone at Spire Motorsports to increase my race count up to the eight that are allowed this year.

“With the schedule we’ve put together, the majority of the tracks I’m fortunate to have a lot of wins at but there are also a few that I haven’t won at yet in the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series and will be looking to add to the win list.”
