Legacy Motor Club has announced a string of strategic changes ahead of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series campaign.

The new season kicks off with The Clash exhibition at Bowman Gray Stadium on February 1, with the official campaign then getting underway at the Daytona 500 a fortnight later.

Ahead of those races, Legacy Motor Club has confirmed a significant addition to its competition ranks, with Justin Alexander joining and taking over from Ben Beshore as the crew chief of the No. 43 Toyota driven by Erik Jones.

Alexander has a wealth of experience working in a crew chief role, and his achievements in the position include a Daytona 500 victory while working with Austin Dillon in 2018.

With Alexander coming in, Beshore will transition to a new role as Director of Race Engineering within the organization.

Speaking in the official statement that confirmed the above moves, Legacy Motor Club Chief Executive Officer Cal Wells III expressed delight at the acquisition.

“Justin is a proven race winner, and we believe there’s the potential for a strong chemistry with Erik," he said.

“We’ll also have Ben raising all ships with the performance engineering group.

"With all these changes, we’re hoping to continue the growth we saw in 2025.”

Meanwhile, NASCAR legend and Legacy Motor Club owner Jimmie Johnson said: “We’re continuing to evolve and refine every part of our race program, and Justin is a tremendous addition to our crew chief lineup.

“His experience, communication style, and leadership align perfectly with the direction we’re headed.

"We appreciate Ben’s hard work and look forward to his continued contributions as he transitions into his new role.”

Legacy Motor Club also confirmed on Monday that Scott Roggenbauer will move from his current role as Chief Financial Officer within the organization to Chief Operating Officer.
