Former NASCAR Cup Series driver Corey LaJoie has revealed he has already turned down multiple offers to race full-time in 2026.
2025 was an interesting year for the Charlotte, North Carolina native, who lost his full-time Cup Series drive at the end of 2024 and therefore only made a handful of appearances in NASCAR's elite category last season.
To fill his time, LaJoie drove in nine races for Spire Motorsports in the Truck Series alongside those Cup Series outings, and also appeared on Prime Video's coverage of the Cup Series as an analyst, proving popular with fans and NASCAR personnel alike.
LaJoie rejects 2026 offers
LaJoie plans on returning to that role when the 2026 season arrives, but his on-track duties are yet to be decided.
It was recently revealed by The Athletic, however, that he has turned down multiple offers to race full-time in both the O'Reilly Auto Parts (formerly Xfinity) and Truck Series next season.
Instead, the report states that the 34-year-old is focused on securing a Cup Series drive, whether it is full-time or part-time. What is most important is being competitive.
“I’ve been still chasing the dream of trying to get back to Sunday full-time, and if that window is closed, I’ll just shift gears and go on to the next thing,” LaJoie told The Athletic in the same report.
“I am happiest when I have clear direction and goals to accomplish, and I feel like I’m working towards them.”
At 34, LaJoie still has plenty of years of NASCAR racing ahead of him, and it will certainly be fascinating to see where he does end up in the end.
