NASCAR Cup Series driver Ty Dillon has followed in the footsteps of Tony Stewart by signing up to Ram's Free Agent Program.

Ram has returned to NASCAR in 2026, running five full-time trucks at Kaulig Racing for the season.

One of their trucks - the No. 25 Ram 1500 - does not have a full-time driver, though. Instead, Ram's Free Agent Program is set to put different racers in each week, with these being a mix of legendary drivers, rising stars, and free agents.

After Stewart piloted the No. 25 in Daytona where he was caught up in an unfortunate wreck, Kaulig Racing has now confirmed that Dillon is next up and set to be in their vehicle for next weekend's race at EchoPark Speedway, or as most NASCAR fans know it, Atlanta.

Ty Dillon set for Truck Series race at Atlanta

Speaking in the official statement that confirmed the news, Dillon revealed his excitement ahead of the event.

“Those are some pretty big shoes to fill, taking over from Tony, but I’ll do my best,” Dillon explained.

“Atlanta in a truck should be a blast, and we go there with every intention of visiting victory lane.

"We've won the truck race in Atlanta before, and we would love to win it again.”

That Truck Series victory came way back in 2012 when Dillon was driving for Richard Childress Racing, beating Kyle Busch to the black and white checkered flag on that occasion.

Dillon's full Truck Series record reads 76 races, three wins, 20 top fives and 38 top 10s.
