NASCAR great Kurt Busch could barely hold back the tears as he paid an emotional tribute to Greg Biffle.

Busch was one of three new members inducted to the Hall of Fame in Charlotte on Friday night as part of the Class of 2026 and took time in his speech to remember his friend.

Biffle and six others - including his wife Cristina and their children Emma and Ryder - sadly died in a horrific plane crash in North Carolina in December.

Busch and Biffle were teammates during their Truck Series days at Roush, and it's clear from Kurt's tribute that they had a great relationship.

Shortly into his speech on stage at the Hall of Fame Ceremony, Busch got emotional as he said: "This year, we lost some family members of the NASCAR community, and it's been a tough go.

"My best goes to the Wheeler family. Humpy Wheeler, you changed our sport with one hot night. Installing lights at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the early 90s was genius. As a kid, watching that race was bigger than life.

Turning to Biffle, Busch continued, slightly choking up as he did so: "To my close friend, Greg Biffle, I still can't put the words together.

"But you and I were like peanut butter and jelly when we raced trucks together, and you were instrumental in helping me win a cup Championship in 2004.

"You will always be the Biff. Everyone, be like the Biff."

Who was inducted into the Hall of Fame this year?

Three drivers from a variety of eras were enshrined in the Hall of Fame in this year's class, with the lineup having been confirmed in May last year.

From the Modern Era ballot, Kurt Busch and Harry Gant were inducted, whilst Ray Hendrick joined them from the Pioneer ballot.

Elsewhere, former President and General Manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway, Humpy Wheeler, was the recipient of the Landmark Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to NASCAR.
