Kaulig and Ram announced their newest full-time driver this year at the culmination of their Race for the Seat competition, but didn't stop there.
Timothy 'Mini' Tyrrell won the competition, which was turned into a reality TV show, to earn his way into the the No. 14 Kaulig Racing truck for the 2026 season.
However, another driver will make it into the NASCAR Truck Series this year as a result of the show as well – with runner-up Carson Ferguson earning himself a one-race tryout.
The dirt racer will get a shot in the No. 25 'free agent' truck at Martinsville in October, after winning the final race of the series in a 20-lap shootout, also collecting $50,000 for the victory.
Ram lineup set for NASCAR return
Tyrrell joked after the race: "Everybody is going to think it's scripted. The top two, right? The one guy wins the seat, and the guy that doesn't win the seat wins the 50k. Glad it was a happy ending for the both of us."
Ram is returning NASCAR this year, providing Kaulig with five trucks for an expanded 2026 program. All four of their full-time drivers have already been announced, with a fifth truck set to be used to feature free agent drivers on a rotating basis – the truck that Ferguson will drive at Martinsville.
Speaking after earning his seat for 2026, Tyrrell said: “I’m just overwhelmed. Winning Race for the Seat is something I never in a million years figured would happen. I came into this hoping to learn a thing or two, grow a bit, and see if I could hang with a bunch of great drivers.
I’m thankful from the bottom of my heart for my family, for everybody who’s been in my corner, and for Ram and Kaulig Racing for this opportunity – taking a chance on a kid that comes from grassroots racing and elevating me to a professional level. I’m gonna work my tail off to make everybody proud.”
