NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson has revealed that he'd like to revisit an iconic race again in the future.

Larson is well known for all the racing he gets up to outside of NASCAR, even founding his own sprint car series, and that enthusiasm hasn't waned with age and experience.

The two-time Cup Series champ admitted on the Dinner with Racers podcast that he's open to a return to the early season Rolex 24 at Daytona, a race that he won in 2015.

Larson raced the event in 2014, '15 and '16 with Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan as his co-drivers for all three years, and NASCAR star Jamie McMurray replacing Marino Franchitti after the first entry.

Larson: I had a blast at Rolex 24

The 33-year-old wrapped up his short endurance racing career after that trio of races, but said on the podcast: “I think at this stage in my career, yeah, I’d do it again. I had fun those three years I did it. I didn’t want to keep doing it every year.”

Winter doesn't necessarily mean some time off for Larson in the way it does for other drivers, and he admitted: “The offseasons have only gotten busier. There’s more races and stuff. I go to Australia now, Chili Bowl, and West Coast Midget races.

"It’s just a lot and I, kind of, want time off. But it’s been so long since I ran it that you almost get to the point where you forget a little bit about it, right? And I just remember having a blast doing that race, so I just want to go there and relive it.”

Larson also admitted another motivating factor to go back to the Rolex 24 – his eldest son Owen was just a newborn when he won in 2015, and he confessed: "To have my kids be a part of it would be cool."

Just one thing to note for anyone attempting to lure Larson to their team specifically for 2027: “I want to be in the best car.”
