A NASCAR driver has made a bizarre new purchase on Facebook Marketplace, and this time, it isn't Carson Hocevar!
Bizarrely, purchasing items on the social media marketplace platform has become a trend among some Cup Series drivers this year, notably Hocevar, who has caused a stir in the NASCAR community with some of his purchases on the platform.
Ryan Preece is the latest to add his name to the list after a unique new purchase. Earlier this week, the RFK Racing driver shared a screenshot of a 'Vintage Weiner Mobile Peddle Car' that was listed for $275 on Facebook Marketplace, asking his fans on X: "Should I do it?"
The very next day, Preece quote-tweeted his original post with an image of his new purchase proudly placed in the back of his car, with the caption: "Dog secured. I love FB Marketplace."
In a further tweet, Preece revealed that 'Weinermobile Jr' had made it back to the shop, and that he was considering putting an electric motor in, promising further updates down the line.

Weinermobile Jr has made it back to the shop. Pushed Rebecca around in it earlier. It passed the fun test. Think I might be able to slap an electric motor in next 🤔 Stay tuned pic.twitter.com/brFk9jFE1O

NASCAR drivers love Facebook Marketplace
Of course, as mentioned above, Carson Hocevar is the Facebook Marketplace king when it comes to the NASCAR world.
Earlier this year, the Spire Motorsports star made headlines at Darlington after purchasing a black 1997 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck decorated to match Dale Earnhardt’s GM Goodwrench No. 3 ride and driving it to the track.
Since then, he has also purchased other NASCAR-themed or related cars, including Kasey Kahne's No. 9 Dodge from the debut Car of Tomorrow (COT) race at Bristol Motor Speedway back in 2007.
Speaking about his next Facebook Marketplace purchase back in October, Hocevar said: "Definitely another NASCAR car.
"I’m up to three or four that I own. One’s going to be a remake of a streetcar I saw in a funny Instagram post. Another is a real Cup car I want to get."
It's become a talking point in the garage, too, with multiple NASCAR insiders constantly sending Hocevar potential buys on the site.
"Christian Eckes texted me something, Jesse Love sent me something," Hocevar said. "Even drivers I don’t really talk to that much are sending me stuff."
