NASCAR Cup Series star Daniel Suarez has answered fan questions in an online Q&A set up in the sport's brief off-season.
The newly-signed Spire Motorsports driver will be driving away from Trackhouse Racing for the first time since 2020, a five-year run which yielded two race wins and an accompanying pair of playoff spots.
Suarez, the first foreign-born driver to win a major NASCAR title when he took Xfinity Series glory in 2016, was out-driven last year by team-mates Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen, leaving him the odd man out when the team decided to promote a young talent.
That young talent is teenage star Connor Zilisch, who broke records on his way to a ten-win season in the Xfinity Series last year, only to be stunned in the season finale at Phoenix by his good friend and eventual 2025 champion Jesse Love.

Suarez quizzed by fans
Suarez, however, seems to be settling in as the new driver of Spire's No. 7 car, taking part in a Q&A (or at least, the first part of it) with Freeway Insurance.
Breakfast on raceday? "I love to have eggs with bacon, and a nice cold water with lemon."
What are your expectations when you start driving the No. 7 car in [the] 2026 Cup Series season? "My goal is to win, but we have to build a plan to be able to get there.
"What is going to be required from people, from individuals, teamwork to be able to get there. That's my goal, build all the different processes and systems and work ethic to be able to get to the main goal, which is winning races."
What has been the most meaningful memory in your career? "It's really difficult to pick only one, but I would say that this 2025 season, going to race in Mexico City in front of all the people I love, and all the people who have seen me since I was a kid, and being able to win a race there...it was extremely special. Every win is different, every win has a different meaning, but the win in Mexico is up there."
