A NASCAR team has confirmed exciting new plans ahead of the 2026 season, expanding its operation to two full-time cars and announcing a new driver signing.
Viking Motorsports were formed in 2024 and have since run a single-car operation in the NASCAR Xfinity Series - the No. 38 in 2024 and the No. 99 in 2025.
Ahead of 2026, however, the team has now revealed they will be running another full-time car alongside the No. 99 next year - the No. 96 - in the newly re-branded O'Reilly Auto Parts Series.
Ridgefield, Connecticut native Anthony Alfredo will pilot the No. 96 Chevrolet full-time, with Josh Graham hired as the car's crew chief.
Viking Motorsports expand to two-car operation
“Expanding to a second full-time car is a major moment for our organization," team owner Don Sackett explained in a press release.
"Anthony brings experience, professionalism, and a tremendous work ethic that aligns perfectly with where Viking Motorsports is heading.
"Reuniting him with Josh gives us a strong foundation for this new team. Their chemistry, trust, and history together will help accelerate our growth and elevate our entire program.”
Alfredo also commented as part of the official team statement, confirming he was well up for the challenge.
“I’m fired up to join Viking Motorsports and drive the No. 96 Chevrolet in 2026," Alfredo said.
"Having the chance to work with Josh again is something I’m really excited about — we’ve had success together, and I know what we can accomplish as a team.
"You can see how much Viking is building and investing in its future. Being part of their expansion to a two-car program is a big opportunity, and I can’t wait to get going.”
Viking Motorsports have confirmed that they will announce primary and associate partners for the No. 96 Chevrolet in the coming weeks.
We do know, however, who will be teammates with Alfredo next season, with Parker Retzlaff having already been confirmed as the driver of the No. 99 next season back in November.
