Denny Hamlin has fired an incredible blast at Spire Motorsports owner Jeff Dickerson as the Chris Gabehart court battle gets super ugly for the sport of NASCAR.
The shockwaves were seismic in February when Hamlin's Joe Gibbs Racing filed suit against Denny's fomer crew chief Gabehart in a stunning development.
The bombshell suit alleged that Gabehart had "embarked on a brazen scheme to steal JGR’s most sensitive information and use it for the benefit of a direct competitor in NASCAR - Spire Motorsports".
Gabehart strenuously denied the allegations, describing the move from his former team 'spiteful'.
Now, more than two months on, the battle is still very much ongoing with Spire having been named as a co-defendant in the case. Gabehart IS now allowed to begin work at Spire, but not with the same duties he performed at JGR.

Dickerson's Spire defense sets Denny off
The whole thing became very public again on Thursday, when Dickerson appeared on The Athletic insider Jeff Gluck's 'Gluckcast' show, and spoke out in defense of his Spire team.
“It is tough sitting in court and being called a liar and a thief and a cheater, and every time that a judge has asked for any evidence, they have produced nothing,” he said.
“We’ve done everything the right way. We have taken no shortcuts. So when we hear in court that we’re trying to take a shortcut, it’s tough to hear sometimes.”
Then Spire issued a warning of sorts to JGR as he added: "They’ve called us a lot of things, and we hear it. If the point is to try to hurt us or try to burn us down? OK. I don’t think they’re gonna beat us; they might win something, but I’ll make sure they wish they hadn’t.”
Hamlin and the explosive response
That comment was enough to drag Hamlin into late-night combat on social media, and he responded on X in the strongest possible terms. It was, explosive.
"Yeah, okay buddy. You hired someone who stole tens of millions worth of information, lied about communications y’all had after you deleted them and now is getting paid double to work on your truck program? GTFO," raged Denny.
"What was it you called Richard again? Was it you who was leaking information after RTA calls?"
The case, obviously, continues but for now there is very little sign of any type of truce incoming.
