The 110th edition of the Indianapolis 500 takes place today, Sunday, May 24, and we've got all of the information you need ahead of the action.
After weeks of buildup, the drivers will take to the track this afternoon for 200 laps around the iconic, 2.5-mile oval at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with one star set to etch their names into the history books forever.
There is NASCAR involvement in the Indy 500 for a third consecutive season, too. Part-time Cup and O'Reilly Series driver Katherine Legge is attempting Double Duty today, just as Kyle Larson did in 2024 and 2025, and lines up 26th on the grid.
Not only that, but seven-time Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson and his Legacy Motor Club team have also partnered with McLaren for this year's race in an alliance that has seen the two teams collaborate on the No. 31 entry driven by 2014 Indy 500 champion Ryan Hunter-Reay.
Of course, last season it was four-time IndyCar champion Alex Palou who took the win - his first in the Indy 500 - and he's the man to start today's Indy 500 on pole as he looks for back-to-back victories.
