NASCAR legend Kyle Busch knows how tough it is to succeed in the sport, and he’s passing that knowledge on in pretty brutal fashion.

The two-time Cup Series champion is now 40 years old and struggling to recapture past glories. He is now seven years out from his last championship in 2019.

While Busch will continue his quest for more honors in 2026 with Richard Childress Racing, he is also focused on ushering in the next generation of NASCAR stars. Namely his 10-year-old son Brexton.

This week Busch shared a film session featuring father and son after a recent race, and fair to say it featured some ‘tough love’ from Kyle. Featuring the brutal phrase ‘You’re so slow, bro’.

It wasn’t just criticism from Busch Snr, as he glared intently at the race footage on a tablet - it also came with a heavy side of insightful analysis designed to make Jnr go faster in the future.

'You are slow, car not slow, you slow'

It’s a fascinating watch (you can see it all by clicking here) as Kyle tells Brexton: “Turn the wheel there, little tight, good exit, no problem. Super easy on entry, not even trying to get the corner. Drives off the corner just fine - like, you’re slow (complete with hand gesture).

“You are slow, car not slow, you slow.”

Kyle then expanded on his main point as he explained to Brexton: “You are so easy getting it into the corner, you’re not even driving it into the corner. My point here is, you have way more car potential than what you’re giving it. Super secure on entry, no problem.

Kyle tells Brexton he has to keep it real

“I’m sorry Brex, but I have to be able to tell you where it’s at, and it’s you. Go look at the data now.”

The rest of the clip shows Buch talking his son through that data to give him further tips on what he needs to do better.

It’s not the easiest watch if you’re a parent who struggles to keep it real with your kids. But it is a masterclass in being honest. It’s not just destructive, it’s constructive, and brutally real.

Kyle's caption to the video said it all - "Gotta deliver the hard truth to maximize potential".

Amen.
