Chicagoland Speedway recently announced that a Goodyear tire test will be taking place at the track on Tuesday, April 21, with six teams in total set to take part.
This will include three Cup Series teams and three from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, with six cars in total set to participate in the test, although it is unclear at this stage which teams these cars will belong to.

The best part, however, is that fans are able to attend the track and watch the cars in action totally free of charge, with tickets and seating free to the public in sections 107 and 108 of the venue.
Chicagoland Speedway has also revealed that the event will include fun activities and giveaways in between laps for those fans who do decide to attend.

NASCAR returns to Chicagoland Speedway
The above test will be the first time that NASCAR engines have roared at the track since 2019, when the sport last raced at the venue.
NASCAR was due to race there once again in 2020, but the event was canceled due to the pandemic, while NASCAR then opted to hold a street race in Chicago from 2023 to 2025.
However, for 2026, Chicagoland Speedway is back, with Cup and O'Reilly Auto Parts Series action taking place at the track across the July 4th weekend (July 3-5).
Tickets for the race event are unfortunately not free, but you can find more information on the available options and pricing here.
