Data from NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson at Bristol Motor Speedway has revealed the physical toll that drivers go through during a race.
Bristol is one of the most physically demanding tracks on the schedule for the sport's stars, with the drivers being put through high G-forces due to the short, almost constant-turning nature of the track.
So how many calories do drivers burn overall? And what does their heart rate look like as they're competing? Larson's data from Sunday has revealed all.

Kyle Larson burned 1,565 calories at Bristol
Larson is one of many drivers to race while wearing a fitness watch that tracks those metrics, and with Bristol being a physical track, his numbers this week were insane.
First and foremost, let's take a look at calories. According to Larson's Strava data, during Sunday's Food City 500, the Hendrick Motorsports star burned 1,565 calories.
We're no fitness experts, but calorie calculators suggest a human being of Larson's height and weight would have to run roughly 15 miles to burn that amount, or walk over 47,000 steps.
Larson's data also revealed just how fit NASCAR drivers have to be to get through a race.
Across Sunday's event, the two-time champion's average heart rate was a staggering 149 beats per minute across a period of 3 hours and 11 minutes, with a maximum heart rate of 182bpm - that's more than three beats per second.
Joe Gibbs Racing star Chase Briscoe also shared his data post-race, revealing his average heart rate was 127 bpm, and peaked at 157 bpm.
