NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson has showcased a stunning new watch designed to commemorate the seven-time Cup Series champion hitting a major milestone.

Johnson retired from full-time NASCAR action at the end of the 2020 season, but continues to feature in the odd race for his own team, Legacy Motor Club.

In 2025, the 83-time Cup Series race-winner made two NASCAR outings in the sport's biggest events, first running at the Daytona 500 in February and then again at the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte in May.

That latter appearance saw the 50-year-old hit a stunning milestone, with it marking the 700th Cup Series start of his career.

Jimmie Johnson's 700th start watch

To celebrate the achievement, back in May, Johnson announced a partnership with British motorsport-inspired watch brand, Omologato, to create a watch - the JJ700.

The production run was limited to just 700, in line with Johnson's achievement, with the watch also featuring carbon fiber directly sourced from the No. 84 Toyota driven by the NASCAR legend at Charlotte Motor Speedway on the day he hit the milestone.

Now, taking to Instagram, Johnson has shown off what the watch looks like on his own wrist, writing: "700 starts. 700 watches. One incredible legacy.

"This timepiece means a lot to me — the dial is made with real carbon fibre from the car I drove in my 700th start with Legacy Motor Club at Charlotte. Only 700 made worldwide, each one carries a piece of that race and my journey."

Speaking back in May when the watch was announced, Johnson echoed a similar sentiment: “This watch isn’t just a timepiece — it’s a celebration of LEGACY, speed, and a career milestone I’m proud to share with fans.

“I love this design and I’m grateful to Omologato for this opportunity.”

Elsewhere, Omologato Founder Shami Kalra added: “I’ve always been fascinated by the close racing of NASCAR and how passionate fans are about it.

"To be involved with one of the biggest names in the Series is an absolute honour."
