Joey Logano may be a three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, but things certainly haven't come easy for the Team Penske star in 2026.
The season started brightly for the driver of the No. 22 Ford at the Daytona 500, winning one of the duels and finishing third in the main event, but since then, strong results have become much harder to come by.
In fact, in the five races that followed Daytona, Logano failed to finish inside the top 14, with his best finish having been 15th, twice, at COTA and Las Vegas during that run.
Thankfully for Logano, he was able to halt his poor form at Martinsville last time out, coming home in third, and bringing himself up to 12th in the latest Cup Series standings.

Joey Logano isn’t sweating tough start to 2026
Although that puts him inside the spots for The Chase, Logano is still 168 points behind Cup Series leader Tyler Reddick at this stage, with plenty of work to do if he wants to contend for the title later this year.
However, speaking on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Logano has revealed that while he isn’t happy with his start to the season and points standing, he isn’t stressing about it just yet, either.
“No, I’m not okay with it,” Logano said on his position in the Cup Series standings. “We shouldn't be okay with it either.
“But you know, I mean, the points are where they are, right? There’s not much you can do about it right now, about the past. You just got to keep grinding and moving forward. There’s a long ways to go in the season.
“Obviously, I think everyone knows [Tyler] Reddick is a long ways out there, but to get back up to the top five is not something that's not achievable, it's right there in front of us, it's still pretty dang close.
“I mean, you string together a couple of strong races, you're right back in the top five before you know it because it is close right now."
Bubba Wallace example
“I mean, for example, look at Bubba [Wallace]," Logano continued. "Bubba was second in the points two races ago (he’s now 11th).
"It changes really, really quickly, especially because we’re still early in the year and the points are still fairly close.”
It's Bristol Motor Speedway up next on Sunday, where Logano will be looking to add more precious points to his tally.
Logano is a two-time winner at the track, albeit over a decade ago in 2014 and 2015.
