NASCAR star Justin Allgaier has issued a brutally honest response to the controversial Hall of Fame debate between Dale Earnhardt Jr. and one of his podcast co-hosts.
Allgaier found his name being dropped on this week's Dale Jr. Download podcast, with Earnhardt Jr. questioning whether or not the 39-year-old is worthy of being in the Hall of Fame.
Travis Rockhold, Earnhardt Jr's podcast producer, didn't think so, but caused controversy when he suggested that NASCAR achievements outside of the Cup Series should not count towards Hall of Fame consideration.
“Are you f***ing serious?” Earnhardt Jr. responded, not taking kindly to that suggestion. “It’s the NASCAR Hall of Fame, not the NASCAR Cup Hall of Fame."
“Wow,” he continued. “That is a pretty sh**ty take.”

Justin Allgaier weighs in on HOF debate
Naturally, given that his name was mentioned in the debate, Allgaier was asked if he had seen the clip when speaking to the media ahead of this weekend's action at Martinsville, and his response was refreshingly honest.
“I did, unfortunately, yes,” Allgaier replied when asked if he’d seen the clip that has gone viral in the NASCAR community.
“I'll just say this, I agree with Dale in the fact that … not on the Justin Allgaier fact … but on the fact that it is a Hall of Fame for NASCAR as a whole.
“I very much dislike Travis’ side of the story there. But I also do think that to his point, I don't know that I've done anything that warrants going into the Hall of Fame at this point.
“Yes, winning a championship is great, and winning the races that we won is great, those have been amazing moments, but at the same time, there's a lot of folks that have done a lot in the sport and have accomplished a lot that aren't in the Hall of Fame.
"So, you know, I don't know that I'm in the runnings for it or not, but listen, you'll never be disappointed if Dale Jr. asks if that's a possibility or not, so that was a cool thing.”
