Racing fans have been denied the chance to see a Kyle Busch tribute paint scheme on track this weekend.
Thomas Annunziata and his Nitro Motorsports team announced on Wednesday that they planned to run a design deliberately reminiscent of Busch's iconic M&Ms scheme in Friday's ARCA Menards Series race at Lime Rock Park.
Unfortunately, the team confirmed shortly afterward that those plans have had to be scrapped after they failed to secure all the necessary approvals to run the planned scheme this week.
It's unknown what Annunziata's No. 70 car will look like for Friday's running now, only that it won't look like a certain 2019 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

Kyle Busch scheme nixed after approval issues
Nitro Motorsports co-owner Nick Tucker told JosephSrigley.com that the idea had been pulled together on short notice, and admitted 'the timeline for all involved didn’t work out to get it done in time'.
A team rep added: “As you can imagine, the approval process for something like this is lengthy, and Nitro Motorsports has run out of time to complete all the necessary steps."
Annunziata is having a strong season in the ARCA Menards Series, sitting second in the championship heading to Lime Rock Park – albeit winless since last year's Lime Rock race, his only victory in the series.
He'll be pulling double duty for the second year in a row at the Connecticut track, making his second Truck Series appearance in as many years, this time driving for Tricon Garage.
