Alpha Prime Racing have confirmed the signing of a full-time driver for the 2026 O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.

The 22-year-old will drive a full-time schedule in the No. 45 car next year, his first time taking on a full calendar in one of the three main NASCAR series.

Scott has been a model of consistency in the ARCA Menards Series, taking top-five finishes in more than half of the races he’s started over the last two years, taking back-to-back runner-up spots in the championship.

Despite all of that, however, he failed to visit victory lane in the series despite nine top-three finishes in the past two years.

Lavar Scott: NASCAR move feels insane

The No. 45 car ran at all 33 Xfinity Series races in 2025, but did so at the hands of seven different drivers – including Scott at Dover and Gateway, where he finished 28th and 19th respectively.

In a post on social media announcing the move, Alpha Prime wrote: “Welcome to the team, rookie. Lavar Scott will compete full-time in the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driving the No. 45 Chevy!”

In his own post, Scott said: "Don’t know what to say or type. Just thank you to everyone involved. Had a dream and plan since 3 years old, and it’s actually happening. INSANE feeling."

Scott will team with the No. 44 car of Brennan Poole with APR in 2026, with Parker Retzlaff having left the team and the No. 4 car for Viking Motorsports.
