NASCAR star Carson Hocevar's epic celebration at Talladega Superspeedway ended in a huge burnout after crashing into the wall following his maiden Cup Series victory.

Hocevar edged Chris Buescher to win Sunday's Jack Link's 500, and after taking the black and white checkered flag, he put on a show for the fans watching from the grandstands and on TV.

As well as burnouts, which, let's be honest, are customary if you win a NASCAR race these days, Hocevar also climbed halfway out of his No. 77 Chevrolet, fired it back up, and drove it around the track, waving to fans and pumping his arms in celebration while hanging out of the window.

The pictures will go down in NASCAR history, but after completing his lap, Hocevar struggled to keep control of his car, eventually crashing into the wall on the frontstretch.

Fortunately, there was no serious damage to the car, and it cleared post-race inspection with no issues, while Hocevar was able to quickly get the incident out of people's minds with another huge burnout after the collision.

Carson Hocevar on Talladega celebration

Speaking once he had finally gotten out of the car, Hocevar said on the frontstretch: "I feel like every time I ever see the crowd, really got to hear ’em, I’ve had this thought up for a while.

"I’ve messed it up every which way to not be able to do it. I don’t care if it took 20 minutes or whatever, I was going to figure out how to do it. It took me a while.

"I’m so thankful. This is the biggest dream I’ve ever thought of. Thank you, everybody. I couldn’t have done it in any better way.

"Hopefully my grandpa’s watching. My grandma died last year, so I’m so thankful that I can give my grandpa a trophy now. Wish my parents were here.

"All thanks to Jeff Dickerson. Heat waves. Everybody is here. Unbelievable. I’m just so thankful, thank you."

Hocevar concluded: "I posted on Instagram I didn’t really care, we were going to win, and we won, so… I’m just so thankful. I knew we were going to win. I really did."
