Kyle Larson has admitted that he spent much of last week working under the assumption that this year's Clash at Bowman Gray would be postponed.
The reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion was proved right not once, but twice, as the race was first pushed back to Monday evening before being moved two days further back to Wednesday.
Larson was speaking to reporters on a call on Saturday, and revealed that once the call was over he was planning to go out and play in the snow with his kids, and 'probably build a jump'.
His Hendrick Motorsports team have already done the pre-race prep that they can, leaving Larson and co. with some time to spent with their families, making the most of the frigid conditions and rare amount of snow.
Larson: Time to enjoy the snow with family
"I think we all assumed it wasn't going to happen tomorrow [Sunday]," Larson said, "so in my head I was already planning for Monday or potentially further. Really it just gets you excited that you can enjoy the snow with your family.
"As soon as I'm done with this [call] I'm going to head over to my shop, we've got a good hill, probably build a jump, put the kids on some tubes and sleds and go have some fun for the next couple of days.
"We're just trying to make the most out of the situation, and also be ready to go when it is time to go. We've already done our pre-event packet going over the race, the race weekend, practice, qualifying, all of that, so I feel like we have a good plan and now we've just got to wait to get on track."
