After announcing that their team had been sold in November, one NASCAR outfit has confirmed they will be back on the grid this season after all.
At the end of last season, a press release revealed that Sigma Performance Services Racing (SPS Racing) had acquired NASCAR and ARCA outfit AM Racing, uniting the two organizations under one banner with the backing of Ford Racing.
Starting in 2026, SPS Racing was set to run in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, taking AM Racing's spot in the NASCAR division.
At the time, SPS Racing confirmed that the transition from AM Racing to themselves would happen immediately so that they were fully prepared when February and the season opener at Daytona rolled around.
However, late this week, AM Racing confirmed shock news. They won't be selling to SPS Racing after all.

NASCAR team announces shock sale reversal
In an announcement on their social media channels, AM Racing wrote: "In November of 2025, an acquisition of AM Racing was announced.
"While the transaction ultimately was not finalized, AM Racing will move forward independently and remain committed to competition in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series.
"The organization will build upon its existing foundation for the upcoming season, with driver and team announcements forthcoming."
Who drives for the team now remains to be seen, with the first race at Daytona now less than a fortnight away.
At the time of the November acquisition, SPS Racing said that driver lineups and car numbers would be announced at a later date, but now AM Racing has a decision to make.
Last season, Harrison Burton drove for them in the Xfinity Series. However, he is not an option currently having joined Sam Hunt Racing full-time for the new campaign.
It's certainly going to be an interesting couple of weeks as AM now gets prepared for the campaign.
