NASCAR Cup Series star Chase Elliott will enter his first NASCAR Truck Series race in over three years later this month.
The 2020 Cup Series champion hasn't entered a Truck race since the season-opening Daytona race in 2023 for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, but will get back to the series at North Wilkesboro in just over a week's time.
Elliott will become the seventh driver of the the No. 7 Spire Motorsports truck this year, albeit in response to unwanted circumstances, as North Wilkesboro was intended to be the seventh of Kyle Busch's eight Truck Series races.
The all-series legend was replaced by Corey Day at Charlotte, and by Rajah Caruth at Nashville – the latter finishing second behind Layne Riggs in a tense finish.
Elliott a three-time Truck Series race winner
Elliott never raced full-time in the Truck Series on his way to the Cup Series, running nine of his 18 career Truck starts for Hendrick Motorsports in the 2013 season, taking the first of his three career victories at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario.
His other two Truck wins came with GMS Racing in 2017 and 2020 at Martinsville and Charlotte respectively, with just three more Truck starts since that 2020 season.
They all came for different teams, with one final GMS start (second at Texas in 2021) before one for Spire (seventh at the dirt-track version of Bristol in 2022) and Daytona in 2023 with McAnally-Hilgemann.
