William Clyde ‘Chase’ Elliott II is very much following in the footsteps of his father Bill, who is now a NASCAR Hall of Famer.

Chase carries the same number as his Dad as he powers the No. 9 Chevrolet for the mighty Hendrick Motorsports team. The career highlight so far being that epic Cup Series Championship title back in 2020.

Things have been tougher in recent times for Elliott, who endured a 44-race winless streak before finally getting back to Victory Lane at Atlanta in 2025. He followed up with another win at Kansas in September, finishing eighth in the final season standings.

In total, Chase has grabbed 20 Cup Series wins to date, with five coming in his 2020 title-winning campaign. He also owns six Xfinity Series victories and three in Truck Series action.

Elliott is one of the most popular drivers in the Cup Series, and he has the evidence to prove it. He was recently voted Most Popular Cup Series Driver for the eighth consecutive year at the sport’s recent annual awards ceremony.

Also named as one of the 75 greatest stock car racing drivers of all time in 2023 when he was included in the 'NASCAR 75' list.
