NASCAR Cup Series star Chase Elliott says that he is excited about the sport's return to Chicagoland Speedway this weekend.
Both the NASCAR Cup and O'Reilly Series are in action at the 1.5-mile track in Illinois this time out, marking the first time that the sport has visited the track since 2019.
Back then, Elliott was in his fourth full-time Cup season at Hendrick Motorsports, but he had enjoyed some strong finishes at the track already, including a P2 in 2017 and a P3 in 2016.
One thing is for sure - Elliott will be getting plenty of track time across the weekend. On top of his full-time duties at Hendrick Motorsports, he'll also be running in the O'Reilly Series with JR Motorsports this time around.

Chase Elliott on Chicagoland Speedway return
Now, speaking to the media ahead of the action this weekend, Elliott has opened up on the excitement he feels at being back and being on double duty.
“I'm excited to be back here," Elliott told the media on Friday. "When we used to visit, I thought that it was always a great stop on our schedule, and one that we made quite a few times over the years early in my career.
"I thought we had some good runs throughout that time period. Certainly, it was better than the street course was for me, so hopefully this weekend's a better effort, and we can try and just put together a solid day.
"We need a good solid day, so hopefully we can put that together this weekend on Sunday."
Double Duty for Elliott
"And then, yeah, it’ll be nice to be back in the O’Reilly car," Elliott continued. "I haven't been in a Saturday race in a while.
"It's been like over a year, I think, so I'm kind of curious to see how that goes.
"I appreciate Dale (Earnhardt Jr.), the boss and just everybody for having me and letting me do it. Hopefully, I can get up to speed quick and get going.”
