With no NASCAR Cup Series action this past weekend, we thought it would be a good chance to pause and take a look at the latest championship odds.
We did this ahead of the 2026 campaign, but there have been seven Cup races since then, the results of which have led to some drastic odds changes.
For example, the pre-season favorites for the title were reigning Cup Series champion Kyle Larson and Joe Gibbs Racing star Denny Hamlin, but they have now been usurped by 23XI star Tyler Reddick.
After a winless 2025, Reddick was only considered the ninth favorite to win it all at Homestead in November before the season began, with odds at +1800, but after four wins already this year, he's now the championship favorite (+450), ahead of Larson (+500) and Hamlin (+500).
Another driver the oddsmakers have slashed their odds on of late is Chase Elliott, who entered the year at +1100 and seventh favorite, but is now fourth favorite with odds of +700. Those odds put him just ahead of Ryan Blaney (+750) and William Byron (+750) at present, who are now slightly less fancied than they were before a wheel was turned in anger this year.
They are not the only drivers who are now fancied to be more of a long shot than they once were. 2025 Xfinity Series champion and Cup rookie Connor Zilisch has seen his odds rise dramatically from +1600 to +7000 after a difficult start to the season, with Christopher Bell also jumping from +650 to +900 after seven races.
On the flip side, despite rough starts, two and three-time champions Kyle Busch and Joey Logano have seen their odds cut, with Busch going from +5000 to +2800, and Logano from +2000 to +1200.
