Cup Series stars Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen will once again run a number of races in NASCAR's second series in 2026, it has been confirmed.

The Xfinity Series is set to be rebranded to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series ahead of the 2026 campaign, and JR Motorsports announced on Tuesday that the two Cup Series drivers will once again drive in their No. 9 Chevrolet part-time when the action gets underway.

"Another round with the boys from the (Track)house," JR Motorsports wrote on X.

"Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen return to the No. 9 Chevrolet for select races in 2026."

It is unclear which races they will be exactly, but in 2025, the two drivers have featured in eight Xfinity Series races between them.

Chastain drove for JR Motorsports at COTA, Darlington, Nashville, Dover and Iowa, for example, whilst van Gisbergen took the reins in Chicago, Sonoma, and Watkins Glen. Given SVG's road course prowess, something similar next year would not be a total surprise.

Double announcement day for JR Motorsports

The renewed deal with Chastain and van Gisbergen was not the only exciting news dropped by JR Motorsports on Tuesday.

In a statement on their social media channels, the team also confirmed that Rajah Caruth will be completing a part-time schedule for them in their No. 88 Chevrolet next season.

At this stage, it is unclear how many races Caruth will run in, or indeed where, but it will no doubt be very valuable further experience for the 2025 Truck Series championship contender as he looks to make his way through the NASCAR ranks.

He will have a strong machine underneath him, too, with the No. 88 having been driven by Connor Zilisch to 10 victories in the Xfinity Series so far this season.

Zilisch is set to vacate the car when he moves up to the Cup Series full-time with Trackhouse Racing for 2026, where he will be teammates with Chastain and van Gisbergen.

JR Motorsports have also previously announced that Zilisch will feature part-time in their No. 1 Chevrolet next season in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, alongside his full-time Cup Series duties, sharing responsibilities with Carson Kvapil for the season.
