The 2026 NASCAR season has been a rough ride so far for Team Penske star and three-time Cup Series champion Joey Logano.
The 35-year-old has set incredibly high standards over the years, but heading into round seven of the season, he currently finds himself 16th in the points standings and without a top 10 finish since the season-opening Daytona 500.
In fact, Logano has failed to even finish in the top 14 since then, with Atlanta (18th), COTA (15th), Phoenix (31st), Las Vegas (15th) and Darlington (33rd) yielding difficult results.
Last weekend at Darlington was a particularly brutal day, with Logano's frustrations with the car underneath him were clear for all to hear over his radio: "I don't understand how it can be this f***ing far off.
"I mean, the balance now is somewhat drivable, but it's freaking slow as s**t."

Hope for Joey Logano
Despite the above, this weekend's action at Martinsville Speedway offers Logano another chance to change his 2026 fortunes, and looking at his performances at the track over the years, he is certainly one to watch in Virginia on Sunday.
As shared by NASCAR, the three-time champion has the longest top-10 streak at the track out of all of the active drivers at present, finishing 10th or better in 13 consecutive appearances at Martinsville Speedway.
That run stretches all the way back to March 2019, and includes multiple finishes inside the top five (2023 x2, 2022, 2020 x2).
For all of those top 10 finishes, though, the driver of the No. 22 Ford has only won once at Martinsville, which came back in the fall of 2018 when he crossed the line ahead of the likes of Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., and Kyle Busch.
With that in mind, a win this time around still looks like a long shot. However, never say never, and regardless, given the start to the season he has had, a solid finish inside the top five, or even top 10, would provide the No. 22 crew with some much-needed momentum heading into April.
Longest active Martinsville top-10 streaks
Aside from Logano, three other Cup Series stars currently have active streaks finishing inside the top-10, as per NASCAR Insights.
Brad Keselowski comes closest to Logano, with his streak standing at nine, while Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson have finished in the top 10 in their last eight and seven Martinsville races, respectively.
