NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. has revealed the heartwarming reason he was forced to miss this year's Hall of Fame ceremony.
The 2026 Hall of Fame class were inducted in Charlotte on Friday night, with NASCAR legends past and present - most of whom are members of the Hall of Fame themselves, attending the event.
However, Earnhardt Jr. was one notable absentee, and one user on X quizzed him on why he was not there.
The former NASCAR himself was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2022 as part of the Class of 2021, so he knows just what a special evening it can be.

However, it turns out that the NASCAR legend had good reason for not being in Charlotte for the ceremony.
Instead, he was putting his family first and being there for his seven-year-old daughter, Isla.
One user on X wrote, tagging Earnhardt Jr: "I enjoyed the NASCAR Hall of Fame induction tonight. However, what bothered me was the many prior inductees who were not there.
"Sad they were not there to support the new inductees."
Clearly, it caught Earnhardt Jr.'s attention, with a response issued within eight minutes of the original post.
"I was at a daddy daughter dance supporting my 7-year-old daughter," he replied.
Sounds like a pretty good reason not to be there for us. Family first, always.

Who was inducted into the Hall of Fame?
Three drivers from a variety of eras were enshrined in the Hall of Fame in this year's class, with the lineup having been confirmed in May last year.
From the Modern Era ballot, Kurt Busch and Harry Gant were inducted, whilst Ray Hendrick joined them from the Pioneer ballot.
Elsewhere, former President and General Manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway, Humpy Wheeler, was the recipient of the Landmark Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to NASCAR.
