NASCAR officials were kept busy at Atlanta this weekend, with the Autotrader 400 throwing up a whole host of penalties as it weaved its way to a double-overtime finish.
23XI Racing star Tyler Reddick took his second win in as many weeks at EchoPark Speedway to take a commanding lead at the top of the points standings, but before the black and white checkered flag had been waved, a number of drivers committed various infractions throughout the race.
As always, the most common of these was 'pitting before pit road is open', with several drivers having taken the opportunity to head down pit road when they felt it beneficial during various cautions. As with all infractions in Sunday's report, tail-end penalties were handed out for this.
Elsewhere, nine(!) drivers were dinged for speeding on pit road, including Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin and Carson Hocevar, possibly due to Atlanta's unique pit lane speed limit rules.
Cody Ware, weirdly, managed to pick up two separate penalties for pitting out of the assigned pit box, while Hamlin and Alex Bowman both got stung with commitment line violations and Michael McDowell achieved the relatively rare 'Driving through more than 3 pit boxes' badge.
