NASCAR star Jeb Burton has admitted that the first race of the 2026 season is a major target for him, for family reasons.

Part of a famous racing dynasty, Burton's father Ward, uncle Jeff and cousin Harrison have all won NASCAR races at the World Center of Racing, with his father taking the flag in the 2002 Daytona 500.

Jeff and Harrison both won the track's summer Cup Series race, with the latter taking the flag as recently as 2024, but Jeb is yet to celebrate victory in Florida.

Speaking on a podcast with his father looking ahead to the new year, the Jordan Anderson Racing driver admitted that he's got this year's two trips to Daytona in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series marked on his calendar.

Jeb Burton: I want to win at Daytona really bad

"With Daytona, I really want to win there," he admitted. "Everybody in the family's won there but me, I've been really close. Harrison, you and Jeff have all won. I've been close to winning there before, leading in Turn 3 on the last lap was probably the closest in 2021 in the No. 10 car.

"I needed about another foot and a half to clear AJ Allmendinger, but he pulled me back and we had a three-wide Kaulig Racing photo finish [note: Justin Allgaier finished third that day for JR Motorsports, ahead of Burton in fourth], so that was pretty neat for us as team-mates to dominate that race like we did.

"I really want to win there bad, excited to say that Golden Corral will be back on our car at Daytona, and back with us in 2026. It would be cool to get them a win – thought we had one for them at Talladega this year, but it kinda got taken from us a little bit.

"We appreciate their support, and looking forward to getting back to Daytona. I'm excited for the season, I feel like with this new RCR support that we're getting, it should definitely make our program better."
