It's almost time for the 2026 Tulsa Shootout, and here at Oval Insider, we can't wait to see how two-time NASCAR Cup Series champions Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson get on.

The Richard Childress Racing and Hendrick Motorsports stars are among the 2000-plus entries to the dirt racing event, with a total of 433 races set to take place in Tulsa, Oklahoma, from today (Tuesday December 30) through Saturday January 3.

What is the Tulsa Shootout?

The Tulsa Shootout is one of the most prestigious events on the dirt racing calendar in the United States and takes place annually, attracting thousands of drivers from across the country each and every year. 2078 entries this year, to be precise.

Held at the SageNet Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the event focuses on micro sprint car racing, with classes that include winged micros, non-wing micros, outlaw micros, stock non-wing, and junior sprint divisions.

With so many different categories, the event sees drivers of all ages and experiences compete. For example, whilst two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch is set to compete in the event this week, his 10-year-old son, Brexton, is also set to race alongside him in some categories, too.

Taking place one week ahead of the Chili Bowl, the Tulsa Shootout acts as the perfect preparation for many drivers as the dirt racing calendar reaches its peak during the NASCAR off-season.

Which classes are Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson competing in?

As mentioned, Busch will compete alongside his son Brexton this year, with the two-time NASCAR champion racing in the Winged Outlaw, Non-Wing Outlaw, Winged A-Class and Stock Non-Wing categories.

Brexton, meanwhile, is set to compete in the Winged Outlaw, Restricted A-Class, Winged A-Class, and Stock Non-Wing classes.

It's also a family affair for Kyle Larson. However, he will only be racing in the Winged Outlaw category this time around.

He will be taking part there, but otherwise helping his Son Owen and daughter Audrey as they take on the event.

Owen will be racing in the Restricted A-Class, Winged A-Class, and Stock Non-Wing divisions, while Audrey is on the entry list for the Jr Sprint division.

There is also further NASCAR interest, with Ty Gibbs also set to compete in the four premier classes at this week's event.
