Young IndyCar star Louis Foster is set to make a surprise NASCAR debut later this month.

The British driver will make a one-off (for now!) Truck Series appearance at Lime Rock Park next weekend, stepping into the Freedom Racing Enterprises No. 76 truck in Connecticut.

Foster is in his season season as a full-time IndyCar driver with Rahal Letterman Racing, making his debut in 2025 after taking the 2024 Indy NXT title with eight wins in 14 races.

The 2025 IndyCar Rookie of the Year has shown flashes of pace so far in his young career in America's top open-wheel series, most notably taking pole position at Road America in just his ninth race.

Lime Rock race ready for some unusual faces

FRE posted a short statement on social media announcing the move, writing: "Welcome aboard, Louis Foster.

"Louis Foster will drive the No. 76 Droplight Chevrolet Silverado for Freedom Racing Enterprises at Lime Rock Park as he makes his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut. Help us welcome Louis to the FRE family."

Fortunately, there have been absolutely no issues with European open-wheel drivers making NASCAR road course debuts recently, so this will surely go off smoothly.

The Lime Rock race has had a number of part-time and one-off drivers announced as competitors this week, with Colin Braun and Parker Kligerman (who part-owns the track) both set to race the short road course.

NASCAR's scheduling dictates that no Cup or O'Reilly Series drivers will be pulling double duty with Trucks that weekend, with the Truck race the only one at Lime Rock – and the other two at Atlanta.

That means that some teams who might normally lean on a Cup driver to fill their seat for the Truck race, like Spire's No. 77, have had to look elsewhere (in this case, Kligerman).
