A NASCAR team have announced an exciting new addition to their team, effective immediately.
Despite there being just two races to go in all three national NASCAR series, first up at Martinsville this weekend, followed by the championship weekend at Phoenix in early November, Truck Series outfit Tricon Garage have confirmed the signing of a new crew chief.
As per an official team statement, Jeff Stankiewicz has joined the team from CR7 Motorsports, where he most recently enjoyed a string of success with Grant Enfinger, including two wins and a fourth-place points finish in 2024.
Strangely, given the timing of this deal, Enfinger is still in the playoffs, but sits bottom of the standings heading to Martinsville and will be eliminated without a victory.
Of course, Tricon themselves are currently in contention for the championship, with Corey Heim the favorite to claim the title at Phoenix next month, having dominated in 2025 and already locked himself in to the Championship 4.
Tricon Garage sign new crew chief
Tricon Garage currently run four full-time truck drivers in 2025, with Toni Breidinger, Heim, Tanner Gray and Gio Ruggiero driving the the Nos. 5, 11, 15, and 17, respectively.
The team also runs a fifth truck full-time in the series - the No. 1 - but this is not dedicated to any single driver. Instead, it has been shared by several stars this year, six to be precise, including Brandon Jones, Brent Crews and William Sawalich.
At this time, the team's driver plans and which truck Stankiewicz will crew chief remain unclear, with Tricon confirming that further details on their 2026 pairings will be revealed shortly. However, whatever he ends up working on, Tricon are happy to have him on board.
“Jeff is an accomplished veteran and someone we’ve always viewed as a top-tier competitor within the Truck Series garage," said Kevin Ray, partner and general manager of Tricon Garage.
"He’s a championship-caliber leader that will immediately elevate our program and position our organization for even greater success."
Jeff Stankiewicz achievements
According to Tricon, throughout Stankiewicz's career, he has amassed 12 Truck Series victories, with the highlight being a championship win with Sheldon Creed in 2020.
Since 2020, Stankiewicz has guided his drivers to four Playoff berths, including two Championship 4 appearances.
On top of that, the 42-year-old has enjoyed success in ARCA and the Xfinity Series, too, collecting 10 victories in the former and guiding Creed to a playoff appearance in the latter in 2023.
