NASCAR star Kyle Larson has two records in his sights as he prepares to line up at Kansas Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

First and foremost, a Denny Hamlin statistic could be matched, with Larson needing just one more victory to match Hamlin's record of being the most winningest driver at Kansas Speedway, with four wins.

Meanwhile, Larson could also surpass Kevin Harvick's laps led record at the track on Sunday afternoon. Harvick currently leads that metric with 949 laps led at Kansas, while Larson enters Sunday's race on 925 laps led - just 25 short of breaking the record.

But does Larson really care about such statistics? He says it isn't exactly on his mind before the race.

Kyle Larson on NASCAR records and statistics

“I don't know. I mean, that's not something I really pay attention to at the moment," Larson told the media on Saturday.

"You know, maybe when your career's over, that's the stuff that you'll notice and think is cool. But right now, you just show up to the track and try to, like I said, do the best job you can.

"It would be cool to join Denny as a four-time winner here. And yeah, obviously if you can pass Kevin Harvick on laps led anywhere, that's pretty impressive.

"But neither of those were things that I thought about until you just brought it up.”

If you want to see if Larson can match Hamlin and beat Harvick's record, be sure to tune into today's race, which starts at 2 p.m. ET on FOX.
