NASCAR team chief Roger Penske has issued a lengthy statement as 2026 begins - the year that marks the 60th anniversary of Team Penske.

It's a significant milestone for the team, and we already know that NASCAR is set to be at the center of their celebrations.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame, for example, is set to open an exhibit in late spring dedicated to their anniversary celebrations, which will showcase the pivotal moments that have defined Team Penske's journey up until this point and feature historic race cars, championship memorabilia, and rarely-seen artifacts.

Not only that, but it has also been confirmed that on track, Team Penske's NASCAR cars will run select retro paint schemes throughout the year in collaboration with long-standing partners who have played a role in the team's success.

Therefore, expect to see the Nos. 2, 12, and 22 rocking some exciting new looks at times this season when Austin Cindric, Ryan Blaney, and Joey Logano hit the track.

Roger Penske's 2026 statement

Ahead of all of the celebrations, Penske has now issued a lengthy open letter to the Team Penske fans, thanking them for their loyalty and support over the years while also claiming that the best is yet to come.

"To the fans," Penske's statement began. "Today begins a year-long celebration of Team Penske’s 60th anniversary. I want to take a moment to reflect on how appreciative I am of your unwavering support during that time. Your loyalty is unmatched, and your dedication is unparalleled.

"Fans are the lifeblood of our sport, and the passion and fervor you display are key to driving Team Penske forward each season. From Daytona to Indianapolis, Darlington to Long Beach, Detroit to Miami and many more, you continue to amaze us with your terrific and steady support. Professional sports will always have its ups and downs, but your support has been unwavering. We remain as committed to you as you are to us.

"Six decades later, it is amazing to think about what Team Penske was like in those early years. From a small, unassuming shop just outside Philadelphia, we started laying the bricks of the foundation you see today: a foundation built on integrity, respect, passion, hard work and a strong will to win. Those principles carried us to wins in our first two races, the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring in 1966, and continue to guide us today."

Penske: Best is yet to come

Roger Penske's statement continued: "We know the best is still to come. While we celebrate our past throughout the 2026 season, we are not resting on our successes.

"My father taught me the phrase Effort Equals Results many years ago. It will take hard work to continue the legacy of so many that have embodied that phrase over the years.

From everyone at Team Penske, we thank you for being an integral part of our success. Your trust in our people and belief in our culture is at the heart of our story. We could not do it without each of you."
