NASCAR broadcaster Kaitlyn Vincie has hit out at a fan in defence of Cup Series legend Dale Earnhardt Jr.

It all started with Earnhardt Jr. missing the Hall of Fame ceremony in Charlotte, North Carolina, this weekend, with the class of 2026 having been inducted on Friday night.

Plenty of Hall of Famers were present at the ceremony, but Earnhardt Jr. was not one of them. He was later asked why by a fan on Twitter who was disappointed not to have seen him.

The tweet has since been deleted, but read: "I enjoyed the NASCAR Hall of Fame induction tonight. However, what bothered me was the many prior inductees who were not there....Sad they were not there to support the new inductees."

However, Earnhardt Jr. replied almost instantly, confirming that he had a very valid excuse to have missed proceedings - he was being there for his family.

"I was at a daddy-daughter dance supporting my 7-year-old daughter," he replied.

This exchange clearly caught Vincie's eye, and she was keen to point out that people have lives away from the sport, defending the NASCAR legend despite his absence.

"Believe it or not people have LIVES outside the sport," Vincie wrote.

"They are not required to attend every racing function. Prioritizing children should never require explanation.

"I’m sure your daughter will hold that memory dear! @DaleJr."
